Renchi Lee Norwood has been in karate since 1985. He received his training and certification to teach by Sensei Rayburn Nichols with International Karate Federation in 1990. Renchi Norwood began teaching after school martial arts that same year and continues to teach students ranging from kindergarten age - up.

Renchi Norwood has four consecutive Alabama State Championships. Two in the light-weight fighting division and two in the middle-weight fighting division. Renchi Norwood was rated 3rd in fighting in the Southeastern Division in 1993, and competed in the National Black Belt World Championship by invitation only in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Renchi Norwood was Grand Sparring Champion, along with a 1st Place Finish in Katas, and a 2nd Place Finish in Weapons in the 2005 Southern Region Open Karate Tournament in Dothan, Alabama.

Renchi Norwood, during his martial arts career, won multiple Grand Championships and continued to compete in the Senior Division before retiring his sparring gear to dedicate his passion of karate to teaching the next generation.

On a personal note, Renchi Norwood has been married 28 years and has two grown sons. He has a kind heart for animals. And, along with his God given gift of teaching, he is an excellent baker of breads, cookies and granola.
